What would happen in your life if you were to delete the word IF from your vocabulary? Could you soar to new heights? I bet you could.
Here is some incredible insight from my friend and blogger, Kim Steadman. If you like this, check out her blog, Meet Your Wealth.
“Delete IF”
I’ve removed the word IF out of my vocabulary.
IF I could just lose those last 50 pounds becomes WHEN I lose those last 50 pounds.
IF I could retail $300 this month becomes WHEN I retail $300 this month.
IF I could tell 2 people a day about my business becomes WHEN I tell 2 people a day about my business.
The possibilities could go on and on.
I’m sure an English major could tell me all about usages of the word IF and where it must remain in a sentence for clarity…
But I was reading about the word “if” and read this sentence:
“In such contexts, however, the use of if can sometimes create ambiguities (definition of ambiguities is Something of doubtful meaning).”
And THAT was the key – what I was trying to unlock with removing the word IF from my vocabulary. Removing the negativity and doubt from my statements, and reversing things to POSITIVE.
So far it has worked. I’ve been able to remove the word and recreate sentences and statements to a more positive. ( I’ve even applied this at the j.o.b with emails and memos, lol).
SO, No more IFs. Delete it from your thoughts, from your mind. Replace it with WHEN or another appropriate POSITIVE word!
