Enjoy the Process

Christmas is over.

Do you experience a bit of a let down when it is all said and done? Seems we work for MONTHS preparing for this one day. The process leading up to Christmas Day takes a lot of time, money, and energy. And then poof, it’s all done in one day.

Did you enjoy the process? Did you find fulfillment and rejoice in getting ready for Christmas?

Did you stop long enough to lick the bowl of those goodies you made and laugh out loud when the children got the frosting on their little noses? Did you notice the smiles and small gestures of appreciation from complete strangers as you passed in the rush? Did your heart savor the Christmas music as you happily wrapped the gifts that you knew would bring a squeal from your loved ones when opened?

Or were you so stressed out that you weren’t focused on the process at all but rather just attempted to get to the finish line of Christmas Day? Then you got there and thought, “I did all THAT for months and now it’s over, what a waste.” Then you fear enjoyment won’t come until the next holiday arrives.

So just like Christmas, don’t let your business gratification only be a part of the end result. Sometimes success takes awhile to achieve, so you better be sure you are enjoying the ride along the way. Have something that you are always working towards (like Christmas Day), but don’t let it become stressful or chore like, something you have to do only in order to get to the finish line. Don’t wait for its accomplishment to be happy, find the “Christmas like magic” in the process.

Perspective

Perspective is defined as “the state of one’s ideas, the facts known to one.” So you can imagine that different people have different perspectives. Because of one’s background, experiences, and mind conditioning, the facts known to each of us would apparently be different. How does one then determine which perspective is correct?

This Christmas we became members of the Wii Family. My daughter is six years old and we felt she had the ability to play these games now and we would get much enjoyment sharing the time as a family.

Yesterday she was exploring the Boxing Game for the first time and having a blast fighting against the computer. She has never seen boxing in any form before and thus has not been instructed in proper technique.

As she was flinging her arms with abandon over her head, I said, “You fight like a girl.”

With extreme pride, her response was, “I KNOW! I’m SO good!”

What? This brought a great chuckle from me but also some deep insight as well. We had totally different perspective on what the phrase “you fight like a girl” means. As the definition of perspective states, it is the facts known to one. And her database had never been programmed to think that fighting like a girl was in any way negative or derogatory.

In fact, the results she was achieving were congruent with her belief that she WAS really good. She continued to have knock out after knock out. She was winning the game.

Who was I to change “the state of her ideas?” Who was I to tell her that her perspective was not correct? In fact, more likely it was MY perspective that was incorrect.

Hmmm, I had to think to myself how her success was perpetuated by her positive belief. She was having fun, wasn’t concerned that this required a skill she had no practice with, she was eager and willing to learn something new, was building upon each little previous success, and had the correct mindset because no one had told her that “fighting like a girl” was a bad thing.

So my wish for you and your home business is the same – be proud when some one tells you “You fight like a girl!” Cause your perspective is YOURS.

Vacuum Law of Prosperity

As we are finishing out the year, this is a great time to evaluate whether you are achieving your goals.

Are you feeling on track, organized, in control, and moving forward? Or not?

Have you been doing a good job with your mental imaging this year, creating vivid pictures in your mind of what you want to accomplish? But yet you still feel stuck.

The Vacuum Law of Prosperity talks about a space being only able to hold one thing at a time, but that it will always hold something. Are you holding negative or positive thoughts and images?

Science states that “Nature Abhors a Vacuum” and will perfectly move to fill any void. Have you removed the negative in your life in order to create a void – a space that can then be filled with progressive and beneficial results?

There is something to that ole New Years saying, “Throw out the old and bring in the new.” Is your space still being occupied by something unfavorable and ineffective and thus not allowing the good you desire to move in? What in your life needs to go, to make room for the new? You can’t receive the good you desire until first you are willing to give away or let go of the things that cause negative energy in your life.

Take a look at your emotional life – is it filled with chaos or harmony? Take a look at your intellectual life – is it filled with stagnate information or refreshed understandings? Take a look at your physical space – it is filled with clutter or tidiness? Take a look at your financial life – is it filled with lack or prosperity.

It is suggested that if you answered chaos, stagnation, clutter, lack, then you are holding onto something that needs to be removed so that the space can be filled with harmony, new ideas, tidiness, and prosperity.

The things that need to be removed may refer to old relationships, old things, old ideas, old attitudes.

I believe when you attempt to hold onto things, just because, you are sending signals that you aren’t capable of or worthy of receiving more and plentiful things or ideas in the future. It shows a lack of faith in our own abilities to achieve and thus receive success, prosperity, and good fortune.

So spend some time before the New Year rings in thinking about what you need to give up to create a vacuum in order to attract to you all the things you want to be, have, or achieve.
