Ever hear the statement, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” I guess this student needed a reminder this week. And three of my mentors showed up to teach me the lesson.
This week I was having a conversation with Charlie Umphred, VP of Marketing of my company, about our new Director Travel Bonus. He was instructing me on the power of our words and the necessity of being a good care taker of the words we speak, thus the beliefs we hold. Because what we focus on is what we get, it’s imperative that our focus comes out in our words as proper reflection of our future vision. He could tell from my words that my focus, thus my mindset, was not where it needed to be. I retorted with “Well, I just meant that is where I am, not where I am going.” He countered with “No, it’s not about where you are, BUT rather where you are going – that needs to be the focus.”
Charlie offered this great tip to elevate my level of thinking. Take your dilemma as it is now, but just tweak your mindset a bit. Raise the bar on the difficulty. Set the problem higher than it actually is. If your focus remains there, you’ll sail on by the original obstacle. Then once achieved, raise the bar again.
He then reminded me of an eBook he wrote, “Mind Over What Matters in MLM.” Leave me a comment if you’d like to get a copy of this powerfully insightful book.
Then my sponsor, Kathy Schneider, added to the lesson when she questioned why I would use my words to create thoughts of failure. Because she is a dear friend, she can scold me and get away with it.
Okay, if that wasn’t enough, I then received another bit of wisdom from another mentor, James Arthur Ray.
In his E-Zine today, he talks about mindset and the importance of your willingness to create and think new thoughts and NOT focus on the old, limiting ways.
Here are some reminders about creating new pathways:
1. Resolve to keep your thoughts out of the old negative, limiting “path” and hold strongly to your new and positive thoughts under any and all circumstances.
2. Make your new mindset as clear, strong, deep and positive as possible.
3. Travel over your new “path” as frequently as you can.
4. Strengthen your new “path” with the power of emotions, faith, belief, conviction and determination.
I am blessed to have such mentors in my life to give me reminders of how to find my pathway to success. I hope you have some wonderful teachers in your life that help provide guidance to you as well. If not, go find them!

I don’t need the eBook, I have it and read it often but for those reading this post, request the eBook and read it daily until ….. that is until you GET IT!
Your pocket book will thank you.
