My Story

as told during an interview with my upline, Jackie Ulmer

I live in Chanhassen, Minnesota. I have a wonderful husband, a nineteen year old son, and a five year old daughter. Oh, yeah, and a ten year old cairn terrier, that my husband insists is part of the family, so I shouldn’t forget her.

So you may have noticed that we are parenting both a college student and a preschooler at the same time. Yep, you guessed it, we stay pretty busy. I don’t know which is causing me to get more gray hair, the preschooler that needs non-stop attention or my attempts to get the young adult to become an "adult."

My husband works very hard outside the home so that I can be a WAHM (work at home mom). So a lot of my time is spent with these two adorable children. Yes, even the 6’ son is still adorable. Especially when he calls daily from college to speak with his little sister, whom he misses but won't admit it.

As you can see I value family foremost. But I also, believe in honesty, loyalty, dedication, and striving for excellence—in what ever is your passion.

Because of my belief in loyalty, I spent twelve years with the same company as an Employment Specialist for people with developmental disabilities and mental illness. It was my passion to assist these individuals in achieving a purposeful life through community integration. My greatest role was being a mentor to them, as well as the staff who supported them.

I then moved into the position of Employment and Training Counselor for the county. I assisted low income and unemployed individuals overcome barriers in order to secure and retain employment. This role allowed me to see the potential in individuals who just needed someone to believe in them.

So for fourteen years, I was involved in changing people’s lives, an opportunity I was extremely grateful for. Then in January 2003, my life changed when our daughter was born after eight long years of waiting. She is our miracle baby and blesses us each day with her presence. What a joy!

I knew after seeing that pretty little face, with those big brown eyes, that I could not return to full-time work outside the home. I was tired of having a boss tell me what my hours should be, how much money I could make, and otherwise controlling my destiny. Thus, I began my search for work I could do from home.

Years earlier I had become a very part time distributor for a cosmetic company but knew that this was not my destiny. Once my warm market was done, I basically was done. It was beyond my personality to approach strangers about their skin issues and there were so many distributors that no one really wanted to hear what I had because they’d already heard it before.

With my discovery of the potential of the internet, I began my search for something I could get passionate about. This led me to a debt reduction company. Yea! I thought, I love money management. Unfortunately, others didn’t have the same passion about getting out of debt as I thought they should. Debt is a topic that is hard for people to acknowledge and talk about. It’s no fun.

Then I was introduced to a ground floor, yet solid business opportunity. This meant people would be excited to see and hear what I have because it is new. I would be one of the first to introduce the product to my community. This meant I could work from home and still be a professional making a great salary. This meant I could have fun because the product is fun! Everyone uses it and they love to talk about it.

So now I have the wonderful opportunity to combine my desire to be available for my family, my love of mentoring others to success, my interest in the internet, and have fun doing it all. So my greatest desire is to help others now do the same thing.
